Parasyte: The Maxim

Parasyte was based on a Japanese science fiction horror manga series written and illustrated by Hitoshi Iwaaki.
This 24-episode anime series, animated by Madhouse, achieved a level of craziness that few animes have.
The story takes place in a world where parasitic aliens began infiltrating fellow humans’ bodies and taking over their minds. These beings now have control over the whole body and are also able to morph into different life forms.
They feed on the humans and on that parasyte, who failed to take over control so that their secret wouldn’t come out. The most pleasing and interesting parts of the whole film were its fight scenes and philosophy. The growth of our main character’s personality is considered one of the most intriguing aspects of the show as well. The question of “what it means to be human?” is perfectly answered and shows us the importance of empathy in life.
The story is packed with a deep understanding of human nature and a brilliant storyline. It is an underrated masterpiece. However very few anime reach its level, and here are some of them.

Tokyo Ghoul is based on a Japanese dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida. Being cannibals, they are feared by humans, though police can take down ghouls due to their weapons. That’s Why ghouls try their identity not to get revealed.
The anime follows the journey of ken kaneki who once was human and now became a one-eyed ghoul. He now has to try to accept his life and at the same time keep his identity low. The character development from being a shy and selfless character to a badass mighty ghoul was something out of imagination and worthy of consideration.
Despite being an awesome anime I would suggest preferring manga as some points might feel off to certain viewers.
